Hackathon Afterwork at Kollmorgen
Expect great energy, fresh perspectives, and plenty of opportunities to connect
Crack the Code | Hackathon Afterwork
The hum of collaboration, the glow of screens, the shared rush of solving problems under pressure—this is the essence of a hackathon. On March 13, Kollmorgen invites tech enthusiasts of all levels to an evening of hands-on problem-solving, creativity, and competition. Whether you're a seasoned developer, a student, or someone passionate about technology, this event is designed for you.
At Kollmorgen, we are driven by innovation and a passion for automation. With over 50 years of experience, we are a technology leader in navigation and fleet control of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). Our NDC Solutions platform, used by top vehicle builders worldwide, integrates fleet management software and robust vehicle navigation hardware to automate any type of vehicle or mobile robot. But technology is always evolving, and so are we. By continuously challenging ourselves and welcoming new perspectives, we push the boundaries of our work. This hackathon is an extension of that mindset—a way to bring people together to innovate, explore new possibilities, and share ideas.

To make this year’s event even more engaging, we’re partnering with FutureSkill to introduce an exciting challenge that will push creativity, strategy, and technical skills. The Magic Maze Challenge will put your problem-solving and strategic thinking to the test as you navigate a dynamic maze, collect power-ups, and outmaneuver opponents using time-delayed explosions. Whether you prefer to dive into the code or take on a strategic role, there’s a place for everyone in this challenge.
For our Application Engineer and previous participant Timotheus Sjöberg, participating in the hackathon was a chance to step out of the daily routine. Timotheus usually works closely with customers and tools rather than deep in the code, but he found the hackathon to be a refreshing and rewarding challenge.
“It was exciting to see what we could accomplish together. Kollmorgen’s hackathon was well-organized, engaging, and just a great opportunity to connect with others in the field,” says Timotheus.
His advice for future participants? “Just go for it! Don’t get stuck in the details. The goal is to meet new people, have fun, and see what you can create together.”
One of the best parts of our Hackathon is the variety of participants it attracts. This challenge is designed for pairs, so bring a friend to form a team and take on the challenge together—everyone needs a partner to participate. You don’t need to be a developer to join, you can team up with someone who codes and contribute with your strategic and analytical skills. Even a simple solution can make an impact in the challenge, and for those who love competition, there’s plenty of room to explore advanced strategies. Beyond the competition, the event thrives on teamwork, engaging conversations, and the unexpected connections that inspire new ideas and collaboration.
The event kicks off at 15:30, with the winner announced at 18:00, followed by food and drinks in the kitchen. Spots are limited, so make sure to RSVP before March 2, 2025. If you sign up and can’t make it, let us know so someone else can take your place. First come, first served—sign up now and get ready to crack the code!
