A tradition that truly makes a difference
The Archipelago of Gothenburg might take your breath away, but it also faces a big challenge – there is too much trash.
As we all know, this isn't a unique issue – coastal regions worldwide are dealing with similar problems. However, at Kollmorgen, we take action! Armed with trash bags in one hand and trash pickers in the other, we went out for a Day of Caring, simply picking up trash in our natural environment – and making a difference together.
The decision to swap our office walls for nature has become a popular event, with many of us from the company eager to contribute. This time, a cheerful group of colleagues tackled Grötö, Amundön, Ganlet and Trönningenäs, rescuing these places from plastic bottles, flip-flops, ropes and tires. Though it might seem like a simple thing, spending a day cleaning up the shores, the impact goes way beyond just making things look better. It's a reminder that every piece of trash we collect is a step towards a cleaner ocean, healthier marine life, and a more sustainable tomorrow.
Another inspiring aspect of our Day of Caring is how it brings colleagues together. It's a chance to connect in a different way, where the shared goal isn't business-related but focused on a common purpose.
"The most remarkable aspect of this initiative is that it allows us to simultaneously cherish our time together outside the office while actively contributing to keeping our wonderful coastline as clean as possible."
As our tradition of looking after the environment continues to flourish, we hope it has the power to inspire others to take similar steps. Imagine the impact if more businesses and communities adopted a proactive approach to managing waste better.
Ultimately, our Day of Caring at Kollmorgen is about understanding that we all have a part in caring for our planet. It's a reminder that every small effort counts, and that change is possible when we come together with a shared goal. This yearly tradition gives us energy, satisfaction and hope – reminding us that we do this for today and all the tomorrows to come.
