That's why Trivselgruppen, our dedicated culture committee, plays such an important role in organizing events that bring our colleagues together. Oscar Almström, Junior Developer turned Junior Architect, shares his journey as a member of Trivselgruppen and how these initiatives help shape our team.
“I joined Trivselgruppen about a year ago," Oscar shares. "My first event was the company's annual Christmas party. A colleague encouraged me to join, and it felt like a fun way to meet my new colleagues."
Over the past year, Trivselgruppen has taken significant strides in creating opportunities for employees to connect outside their regular workday. From board game nights and bowling competitions to festive summer barbecues and the much-loved Oktoberfest, there's been something for everyone.
"We mix it up – competitive events like bowling tournaments but also relaxed gatherings. Our Oktoberfest at Liseberg's Tyrolen was a huge hit! Adults turned into kids again, enjoying games and live music. Seeing how these events help new colleagues connect and feel at home has been amazing."
For Oscar, the summer parties stand out as a favorite. "It's the perfect time—great weather, good food, and a chance for everyone to unwind before the holidays. These events bring out the best in people and make the workplace more personal."
With Kollmorgen's rapid growth, Trivselgruppen's role is becoming even more significant. "As we expand, it's more important than ever to create opportunities to meet and collaborate across teams,” says Oscar. “Trivselgruppen helps us build a community where everyone feels seen and included, which is the foundation for a strong and thriving company culture."
And as we move into next year, there's more to look forward to. With a growing team and fresh ideas, Trivselgruppen is already planning activities to help build meaningful connections. "We have a backlog of exciting ideas for next year—like escape rooms and mystery-solving events. With the team expanding, we have even greater potential to organize activities that bring people together," Oscar adds. "We want every new and existing colleague to feel like a part of our journey here at Kollmorgen. "
