Ever since we were founded, we have strived to blaze trails in technology and set new ideas in motion. For over 50 years, our people have been developing Automated Guided Vehicles and collaborating to make Kollmorgen what it is today. Among the ones who have contributed to building up our unique set of competencies and skills over the years is our Senior Software Engineer Michael Cederman.

" I have worked at Kollmorgen for 25 years, but I have never suffered the Monday blues. I'm still very passionate about automation and our products. To make a vehicle move autonomously is still exciting, even after all these years. "

At Kollmorgen, we are proud of our long-standing knowledge and expertise, which has created a reliable foundation for our AGV systems and allowed us to keep innovating on our journey towards tomorrow's industry.

"Our history makes us different. Being in the industry for as long as we have, has made it possible for us to build a solid foundation for our systems. And even if I have spent many years in our company, I still have colleagues with more experience than me. The shared knowledge and expertise we have here at Kollmorgen are unique. We breathe AGV systems. We are AGV systems! " Michael says with a laugh.

Michael Cederman started his journey at Kollmorgen in June 1997. Thinking back, it's clear that a lot has changed since then – both in the world and in our software and products.

" When I first started, we didn't have the digital tools or resources we have today, so the most significant change is that there’s much less travelling in my role now. Even if it was inspiring to see the world, we have a more convenient and effective way of working today. The same goes for our products. It's easier to be innovative now, and that's a change I appreciate. "

With today's new technology, we can adapt our software to our system in a more suitable way, making it possible to innovate separate parts without changing the whole system – which means even more user-friendly products for our customers. Even though a lot has changed for the better over the years, we are happy that some things are still the same – our culture and people-first mindset.

" There are two reasons why I have stayed as long as I have here at Kollmorgen. The first one is the people and the second one is the product. Ever since I started, we have had a very clear priority. People come first. I's ok to have a bad day. We have a very open company culture, and it's always easy to reach out and ask a colleague if you need help. "

Today we look back at all we have accomplished since we started our company, and we wouldn’t be where we are now without our people. We look forward to continuing engineering the exceptional together and discovering what the future of AGV systems will look like!
