Kollmorgen's wellness activities
We believe in providing our team with daily opportunities to thrive – both mentally and physically. Assisting us in this effort is a dedicated group of people organising various inspiring activities throughout the week. Whether it's a challenging workout session at the gym during lunch, a refreshing outdoor run, or a calming morning yoga session at the office, our wellness activities bring us closer, fostering friendships and boosting team spirit. One of the driving forces behind these initiatives is Emire Madaras, our Junior Financial Controller & Business Assistant at Kollmorgen. Originally from Budapest, Emire made the move to Sweden nearly two years ago. Her journey into finance from event management found a perfect match here at Kollmorgen, where the role seamlessly blended administrative tasks with financial responsibilities.
"What really attracted me to Kollmorgen was the opportunity to continue my career in finance with some extra administrative and office coordination tasks which allowed me to get to know people very quickly and organically. I really enjoy working here for many reasons, mainly because of the culture and how friendly people are here," Emire shares.
As an active participant in our wellness activities and the instructor for our Friday gym sessions, Emire clearly values the impact of these activities on both individual well-being and team cohesion.
"These activities foster a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable being themselves. Whether someone needs assistance with an exercise or requires encouragement during a run, there's always someone there to lend a hand or offer motivation, " Emire continues. In addition to gym and yoga activities, the group also organises bouldering sessions and After Work runs to Lake Sisjön. Following the run, we cool off with a swim in the lake and then relax in the sauna. The gym workouts and yoga activities are also accessible remotely, ensuring everyone can participate regardless of location. "It's a fantastic way to bond with colleagues outside the typical office environment and form meaningful connections. As an expatriate, making friends in a new country can be challenging, but these activities have certainly helped break the ice."
From cheering each other on during races to providing support during challenging workouts, our wellness activities have helped create an environment where we uplift and motivate one another, breaking down barriers and fostering friendships across departments. Furthermore, these activities have inspired additional initiatives among employees. "People have started signing up for races together, like the Göteborgsvarvet in May. We've begun training as a group, and we've even gone to support colleagues participating in events like the Tough Viking race in Slottskogen. It's lovely to see these friendships forming through physical activity."
