Spring party at the Kollmorgen office
Summer is just around the corner, and nature is in full bloom. At Kollmorgen, this can only mean one thing: the annual Spring Party at the office!
Organised by our culture committee, Trivselgruppen, this popular event helps spark connections and foster inclusivity among our teams. This year, Velentina Chin, a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Kollmorgen and a member of Trivselgruppen, helped arrange this unforgettable event for the first time. For her, the event's highlight was the enthusiasm and investment shown by everyone in their outfits and participation. The theme of the party? 'Oops! I came to the wrong place.'
"The office was buzzing with energy as about 50 of us enjoyed games, drinks, great food, and the ever-popular karaoke room. Seeing everyone fully embrace the theme was great!" shares Velentina.
But the Spring Party is more than just a fun gathering; it's also an initiative to strengthen bonds among our employees through various activities designed to facilitate interaction and team-building.
"We had a lot of games to help people bond. For instance, we started with a 'tipspromenad,' grouping people to solve problems. This allowed colleagues from different teams to get to know each other. After that, we had a mingle session where people could chat with others from different departments," explains Velentina.
The Spring Pary continued with a musical rebus challenge during dinner, where everyone collaborated to guess song names and perform them. There was also a 'Best Dressed Contest' and, finally, the popular karaoke room, where employees from different teams ended the evening by singing together into the night.
"Inclusivity was a key focus at the event, which is why we also invited our summer interns to join even before their official start. This provided an excellent opportunity for them to meet and connect with the team."
According to Velentina, events like the Spring Party are essential for fostering a sense of community within a workplace. They not only break down barriers but also help create opportunities for employees to engage with colleagues they might not typically interact with, which is crucial for a collaborative work environment.
"These kinds of events are great for mingling with colleagues from different departments, especially for those who don't have many touchpoints with others. It's cool to sit with someone and learn about what they do at our company and how we are all part of the same journey, sharing the same goals for Kollmorgen," Velentina concluded.
